What’s wrong with me? How do I get it right? I feel like I am out of my mind.

These are common musings of people in relationships characterized by gaslighting, invalidation, manipulation, betrayal, and a mix of good days and bad. We as therapists are encountering clients experiencing these dynamics in relationships with antagonistic/narcissistic partners and spouses, families, in workplaces, and friendships. It’s not as simple as “don’t engage” (though that helps), but what do we know, what don’t we know, and how do we as therapists participate in this conversation with clients, with each other, and with the world at large? And once they can move past the relationship, we need skills to help them grieve it they once thought they had.

This keynote features Dr. Ramani Durvasula in conversation with David Kessler as they discuss key topics from her international bestseller It’s Not You: Identifying and Healing from Narcissistic People.
