Madison Hamm, LCSW, has been practicing full time social work since 2018. Following the completion of her MSW, Madison began working in the field of mental health and substance use treatment. Through working at a PHP and IOP that incorporates experiential therapy and nature immersion on the group and individual levels of care in order to expand the client’s ability to independently regulate their emotions and increase distress tolerance in a way that decreases likelihood and susceptibility to relapse following treatment. In her work at Omega Recovery, Madison has been using somatic, nature immersion and experiential therapy interventions, and have seen relapse rates decrease, and increase client satisfaction and engagement in the program. This is a way to use trauma-informed care and approaches to clients by increasing client choice and safety of expression, while maintaining an understanding of consistent SUD’s consequence on the brain and nervous system.
