The Wow Factor: Using Awe to Counter Depression, Stress & Trauma
Copyright :

The experience of awe might sound nice, but can you do anything to harness it in therapy and create real change? The answer is yes! Researchers are learning new, exciting ways awe changes our brain chemistry and behaviors. And now, clinicians are learning practical ways to incorporate this experience into therapy to facilitate healing, anchor changes, and improve outcomes, regardless of the clinical problem or approach we use in our practice. In this workshop, you’ll discover:

  • How to use awe in the therapy room to improve emotional health, increase compassion, and strengthen relationships
  • Practical strategies to help clients increase awe in daily life
  • The unique benefits of awe that can missed in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and PTSD—and how to talk to clients about experiences of awe
  • How awe leads to improved physical health, reduces inflammation, and creates brain-based changes
