This course provides an in-depth examination of commonly misdiagnosed dermatologic diseases, including vitiligo, psoriasis, alopecia areata, hidradenitis suppurativa, and infectious skin rashes. Participants will analyze etiologies, clinical findings, and differentials to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Additionally, the course covers referral criteria and management strategies for dermatologic conditions, distinguishing between cases suitable for primary care versus those requiring specialist intervention.

Ashley Smith Fraser, MSN, CPNP-PC

Ashley Smith Fraser, MSN, CPNP-PC, is a pediatric dermatology nurse practitioner at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She earned her BSN and MSN from The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She was a nurse in the emergency department at Children’s National and has been a pediatric nurse practitioner in the dermatology department in Children’s National for over 5 years. She specializes in acne, atopic dermatitis and biologic therapies.
