Judy Carlson, EdD, MSN, APRN, BCN


Judy Carlson, EdD, MSN, APRN, BCN, is Chief Nurse-Research and Evidenced Base Practice at VA Pacific Islands Health Care System for 11 years. Previously, she was a Senior Scientist at Tripler Army Medical Center for 10 years and prior to that the CEO of a Neurofeedback practice in Virginia and North Carolina as well as a tenured faculty/researcher at several East Coast universities. She received an EdD research doctorate, from Rutgers University in Program Development and Outcomes Research, her Master of Nursing Science at Hunter University in Bio-Behavioral Nursing in addition to a post-doctoral certificate in Family Practice from University of Virginia. She has been Board-Certified in Neurofeedback for over 25 years. As a scientist and neurotherapist, her clinical, research and grant interests involve the investigation of the impact of neurofeedback on many health issues including mTBI, PTSD, pain, depression, attention, and sleep disorders.
