Cindy Salazar, LMFT
Cindy Salazar, LMFT, is a dedicated Youth Mental Health Therapist at Homeboy Industries’ Youth Re-entry Center. With years of experience in the field, Cindy is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.
Cindy graduated from California State University, Northridge, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in child and Adolescent Development. She continued her education by obtaining a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Latino/a Studies in 2016.
Before joining Homeboy Industries, Cindy contributed her expertise to various organizations, including the Integrated Behavioral Health program at St. John's Community Health. Here, she played a vital role in improving community health and reducing health disparities by delivering comprehensive services and influencing health and social policy. Cindy also worked with the San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health agency, a Department of Mental Health contracted site, where she focused on Children's Full-Service Partnership—an intensive, community-based mental health service for ages 0-15 and their families.
Currently, as a Youth Mental Health Therapist, Cindy Salazar excels in meeting with youth individually and conducting family sessions. Her approach is grounded in building strong relationships, fostering trust, and providing unwavering support to help clients reach their mental health goals. Cindy collaboratively engages with the entire Homeboy support system to ensure a holistic and effective approach to healing. Her work is characterized by a dedication to destigmatizing mental health, making it accessible and understood by all.
