Aaron Rodwin, LCSW
Aaron Rodwin, LCSW is a PhD Candidate and Adjunct Instructor at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work and a Therapist and Clinical Supervisor at Humantold. Aaron’s research and clinical interests relate to mental health services and interventions for marginalized young adults experiencing serious mental illnesses (SMI). Aaron has a particular interest in the use of innovative interventions that harness music as a youth-oriented, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed tool to improve treatment engagement and mental health outcomes. Aaron’s clinical experience consists of working with youth and adults in outpatient and hospital-based settings with navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorders. Aaron was recently awarded the 2025 Society for Social Work and Research Doctoral Research Fellows Award for his dissertation research focused on understanding how music use may impact recovery-related outcomes among marginalized young adults with SMI. Aaron’s research and collaborations have led to over 15 peer-reviewed articles published in leading journals related to music-based interventions, traumatic stress, young adult mental health, and novel intervention approaches to enhance engagement in mental health services. Aaron is passionate about bridging research and clinical practice and developing novel interventions harnessing modalities that align with youth culture and preferences.
