In moments of survival, language falters, but the need for expression remains.
As clinicians, whether we’re working with children, adults, or families, we are constantly navigating the intricate nature of trauma. Yet, when words fall short, we must find other ways to help clients process and heal.
Sandtray play therapy is an incredibly powerful, non-verbal approach that allows clients to externalize their inner world – creating safety, distance, and a path toward healing by using the sand, miniatures, and tray as tools for self-expression.
The sandtray acts as a physical container that holds our big emotions and difficult stories, creating a safe psychological distance from the problem. This space gives objects and sand the power to express and ‘voice’ what’s happening in our inner world—especially when words alone cannot fully communicate or heal trauma, anxiety, and grief.
Join me amongst the majestic Appalachian Mountains for an immersive, hands-on learning experience that will equip you with invaluable skills and insights to integrate sandtray play therapy into your practice – and let you feel its impact firsthand.
I’ll guide you through the foundational principles and then walk alongside as you gain practical experience with sandtray materials. Together, we’ll explore how to use sand, miniatures, and the tray itself to help clients express what words cannot. You’ll leave with practical tools, fresh inspiration, and a renewed sense of purpose in your work.
Imagine deepening your practice, connecting with fellow professionals, and reconnecting with yourself in a serene, healing environment.
Plus, Cherie Spehar, LCSW, RPT-S, will join us to offer expert insight on understanding the Shadow in relation to sandtray work. You’ll explore how unconscious material emerges through symbolic play and how shadow awareness can deepen the therapeutic process.
Here’s your chance! The transformative power of sandtray play therapy awaits you. Act now and open new possibilities for your practice and your clients’ healing journey.
Warmly,
Tammi
